5 Foods That Help You Achieve Your Fitness Goals

When you are trying to become fit and lose weight, you are always told about which foods to avoid. This is usually quite a lengthy list with all the good delicious things being part of that list. Although the caffeine content of green tea is much lesser than coffee but it is enough to keep you energized in the morning. It might be a difficult switch to make initially but you can do it. 2. Lean Meats

If you aim to gain lean muscles lean meats should become a staple to your diet. These have a very high thermogenic effect and burn almost 30% of the calories consumed during the digestion process. They are hard to digest, so if you consume them you feel fuller for longer. They are one of the best sources of proteins which are the building blocks of our muscles and tissues.

Different vitamins keep you energized and even work as antioxidant. A lot of time our digestive system and the liver function is effect ted by the free radicals which get deposited in our system. This gives rise to different problems including obesity, water retention, bloating and feeling lethargy. Apples and berries make a great mid day snack and help in keeping your energy levels up.

4. Whole Grains

Grains are a very important part of our diets in one form or another. Just replace all types of grains with whole grains. They are a rich source of natural fiber which lowers the fat absorption and lowers your cholesterol levels. Just like lean meats the whole grains take twice as long to break own as compared to white processed cereals. So, if you have whole grain be it whole wheat bread or any cereals you will feel full and might even skip your brunch time snack. The options in leafy vegetables include: cabbage, lettuce, spinach, kale broccoli, mustard greens and romaine lettuce.

The fiber in them makes them hard to digest and helps in absorption of fat. They are able to control your cholesterol and blood sugar levels. The vitamin K gives a boost to your immunity, increases your bone density and also helps in detoxifying. You can include them in every meal as salads, add them to make gravies, have them as steamed, make smoothies such as that of apple banana and spinach or even add baby spinach to your omelets.
